Rhythm and accompaniment with Laurent Cabané
The course will be based mainly on dance tunes from Brittany and the south of France (in particular Rigodon). The aim will be to perfect arrangements based on musical games, bodywork and theoretical explanations: harmony, rhythm and the relationship to the beat according to the dances, and to play the pieces together in connection with the course on melodies with Franck Fagon.
Where possible, tunes will be sent in audio format prior to the course.
Pre-requisite: be fairly independent with your instrument (non-beginners).
Open to all accompanying instruments: guitar, bass, double bass, sousaphone, percussion, keyboards, percussion, drums, accordion, etc.
Melodic instruments with Franck Fagon
Learning will be based mainly on dance tunes from Brittany and the south of France (in particular Rigodon). We’ll look at phrasing, stylistic elements, ornamentation, variations and rhythmic placement according to the dances, breathing and articulations, and we’ll play the pieces together in connection with Laurent Cabané’s accompaniment course.
Where possible, tunes will be sent in audio format prior to the course.
Pre-requisite: be fairly independent with your instrument.
Open to melodic instruments – clarinets, saxophones, flutes, bombards, bagpipes or other wind instruments, violins or other strings…

Arrival: Sunday from 17:00
Departure: Saturday by 11:00
Audience: Adults from 7 to 10 trainees
Overnight accommodation: rooms for 4 people or spacious two-person tents
Food: fresh and possibly local produce
