Clarinet workshop with Jean-Pierre Sarzier, 19-23 August in Urbino (Italy)

During this clarinet workshop, most of the work will be done together, in an accessible way for beginners, but with a more in-depth approach for more experienced players.
We will work both by ear and on scores, on traditional repertoire and partly composed by the musician.
The following will be addressed: air column and sound setting; ornamentation, phrasing, sonority, timbres, style: relations with traditional dances, rhythm and groove; improvisation, accompaniment, reading a simple chord grid, creating a bass line from chords.
Slap, continuous breathing, double and triple staccato. Specific techniques for the bass clarinet.
Irish music and the transposition of flute and bagpipe techniques to the clarinet will be approached.
Less usual clarinets such as alto, basset horn, C or E clarinet are welcome (Please advise prior to the course).
